Part 2

"Mr. Maxwell." Duo looked up at Prof. Hino as the older man waited for an answer. It never failed. Everyday the professor would call on him during a discussion. Mainly, it seemed, because Duo never read the assigned pages.

"I. . .um. . .what I mean to say is. . ."

"You didn't do the assignment." Hino finished for him. Duo bowed his head in shame and silently cursed the delicious taste of ice cream. Of course Hino wouldn't ask him about something that were in the first ten pages. . .no, he had to ask about something that Duo didn't read. "Well, Mr. Maxwell, that's why you sit at the bottom of the class grade wise. Perhaps if you opened the book you paid for, you wouldn't be doing so poorly. . .that is if you even purchased the text book." He glared at the American a second longer before turning his attention to the opposite side of the room. "Mr. Chang, perhaps you'd like to help out Mr. Maxwell."

Wu Fei looked over at his classmate. He usually didn't mind answering questions in class. In fact, he was the most out spoken student in the room, which was probably why Hino was calling on him now. He wanted to add injury to insult. Noting the unhappy look in Duo's face, Wu Fei did something he never done before.

"I didn't do the assignment." He answered sternly and waited for a sharp remark or an insult to follow the way it always did with Duo. Of course, the Chinese student did his homework, but he wanted to know if Hino would treat him the way he had Duo. The professor appeared shocked as he stared at his student.

"Is this a joke Mr. Chang?"

"No."

"Well, would anyone else like to. . ." Wu Fei's thoughts blocked out the rest of what was being said. Maybe Duo was right. . .maybe Hino was holding something against the American. Whatever the reason, it wasn't right.

"Excuse me." Wu Fei interrupted the discussion and a smile pulled at Hino's lips. Clearly the teacher felt that the previous words were phony.

"Yes, but someone else was speaking."

"I acknowledged that, which was why I said 'excuse me'."

"Well, allow Miss. Vile to finish before you add something."

"I don't have anything to add to the topic. I would just like to continue the conversation we were having." Confusion was slowly clouding the classroom as everyone turned to look at the rude pupil.

"You lost me Mr. Chang. Would you mind clarifying?"

"You asked me to answer a question. I told you that I didn't do the assignment. . .then you turned and started talking to someone else."

"What are you getting at?" Curiosity was rich in the teacher's voice.

"I believe that I'm entitled to an insult now." There were a few giggles and smirks throughout the class. The statement sure made Duo smile. Wu Fei noted the smile, but forced his own back as he tried to remain serious.

"Let me get this straight. . .you want me to insult you for not doing the assignment?" More laughter.

"Isn't that how it goes? I mean if anyone else, let's just say Maxwell, said as much, he received an insult and public humility. I, on the other hand, am overlooked." It was now understandable that Wu Fei wasn't going to let this go. He had a look of determination in his black eyes that Heero and Duo knew well.

"Mr. Chang, I'm sure you had your reasons for not completing the assignment. This was the first time. I'm a little leant on first time offenders."

"Oh, so I would have to come in tomorrow and tell you the same thing before I get my insult?" The laughter grew. Not only because they found the conversation funny, but the fact that Wu Fei appeared to be taking it so seriously. "What if I told you that I blew off the assignment because Cartoon Network was having a Sailor Moon marathon?" The room exploded into laughter at the last statement. Only three people didn't find it the least bit humorous: Heero, Prof. Hino, and Wu Fei.

"Mr. Chang, are you intent on turning my class into a laugh in?"

"No. I'm determined to correct the injustice in this room. It's unjust that you treat students differently. Discrimination is against the law."

"Come again?"

"You're discriminating against me because I'm a model student."
"If you want me to insult you, then I will. . ."

"Oh no. You can't do it now. . .because that would defeat the whole purpose. If you were to insult me now, it wouldn't be because I didn't do my assignment. . .it'll be because I made you look like a jackass in front of your students."

"GET OUT!!!!!!" Professor Hino screamed and pointed to the door. Wu Fei gathered his belongings and left. The room was so silent one could hear a pin drop, or at least the students in the back could hear the professor's infuriated breathing. Everyone watched in surprise as Wu Fei left. Before leaving, he glanced up at Duo and allowed his smile to emerge. Duo could only stare at him in disbelief. He now understood Wu Fei's outburst. The Chinese student behaved as such to prove that Hino had something only against him.

"I am Sailor Moon, companion of justice. I will right wrong and triumphant over evil, and that means you." Duo posed perfectly in the doorway of Wu Fei's dorm room.

"Now, that's scary." The Chinese boy informed as Duo stood straight and fully entered the room.

"No, what's scary is that we watched the same thing. No wonder you like the show. The motto tells all."

"I do not watch Sailor Moon."

"Then how did you know that there was a marathon on yesterday?"

"I didn't. . .I was just making it up as I went."

"You can tell me. I promise I won't breath a word."

"There's nothing to tell." Wu Fei snapped and continued reading. Duo plopped down on the bed next to his friend.

"I think there is. Cute girls, short skirts, what's not to love?"

"Did you come here for a reason Maxwell?"

"I came to thank you for what you did for me earlier."

"You think I did that for you?"

"Well. . .yeah."

"I did it because I have a sense of justice. Not for you."

"Oh. . .well, it just seemed odd that you did this after last night."

"Fluky."

"Because, you know, Prof. Hino will never let you back in his class again." Duo looked over at the Chinese boy.

"I'd rather by kicked out of class than continue to study under a fool." The braided boy was amazed. They never carried a conversation this long without him getting under Wu Fei's skin. Furthermore, there had yet been an insult.

"Wanna hear something funny?" Wu Fei didn't answer, he only arched his eye brow. "After you left, Hino went on a rampage. Everyone was afraid to talk, and when he called on Heero. . . .Heero told him that he blew off the assignment to watch Sailor Moon." Wu Fei couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Heero watching the anime. The American was near rolling on the floor.

"Did he insult Yuy?"

"Are you kidding? No one in their right mind would insult Heero." Duo stopped to catch his breath. "But Hino. . .he got this large vein that popped out of his temple. . .and it was throbbing. . .it looked like. . ." Duo's laughter increased. "I don't know what it looked like, but it looked funny." Wu Fei was the first to turn serious again.

"Did you talk to Hino about your last test?"

"Are you kidding? Not after a session like today's. I swear that there was steam coming from his ears."

"We should sneak in his office tomorrow and put a Sailor Moon doll on his desk." Duo started laughing again. Without warning, he fell off the bed and hit the floor. "Are you okay?"

"I can't breath." Duo gasp and Wu Fei smiled at the boy. "Ow. . .my ribs. I need help." He added as he slowed to giggles. He didn't really expect it, but Wu Fei took his hand and pulled him to his feet. "Well, you're being awfully nice."

"I could be. . ."

"No. It's okay. I like you better nice." Duo brushed himself off and studied Wu Fei a moment. "Thanks for sticking up for me today."

"No problem."

"See! I knew you did it for me." Before Wu Fei could respond, Duo threw his arms around the other's neck in a grateful hug. The force of the embrace took him by surprise and he fell on his back on the bed, with Duo on top of him. The black eyes widen in surprise at the gesture. One thing was for sure, this wasn't expected. "You know," Duo pulled from him and stood up straight. "you're all right when you don't act like a jerk. See ya around buddy." With that, the American left the room. Left a confused student that was slightly aroused.

"What exactly were you trying to prove today?" Professor Hino asked the Chinese student after closing the door to his office.

"I've said all I've needed to say."

"You believe that I'm being unjust?" The silent glare was answer enough. "So you're going to stay angered at me over some slacker?"

"No, Eric. I'm staying mad at you for your injustice. What you did wasn't right, and I'm surprised that you acted like that. I guess I don't know you as well as I thought I did."

"Wu Fei, you know as well as I do that Maxwell is just blowing off the class." The teacher attempted to slip his arms around the student's waist, but Wu Fei pulled from the embrace.

"Do you even look at his work? Or do you just see his name and grade him based on his behavior?"

"I thought you didn't like Maxwell."

"It doesn't matter what I think or feel about him. What matters is that you marked him down for answers he had right. Don't tell me you're doing this because of me."

"No. I'm not."

"Then what do you want from him?" Wu Fei asked sternly and crossed his arms. He couldn't help but think about Trowa's words.

"I want him to take the class seriously. I want him to do the assignments that I issue."

"Don't give me that BS. . .I've seen his test. I've seen his answers. His grade should have been a 'A' not a 'C-', so what do you really want from him Eric?"

"I assure you that I don't want anything more from Maxwell." As he spoke with a sincere voice, he began to close the gap that Wu Fei had placed. "You know very well that someone like him doesn't interest me. . .I prefer someone that's intelligent. . sophisticated . .could give me a good argument. . ." He was now only inches from the pupil. "Someone who turns me on when they call me a 'jackass' in front of my students." He leaned forward to place a kiss, but the younger boy placed his hand over the advancing lips.

"Do you think that flattery will get you out of this?"

"What do you want from me?"

"I want you to give Maxwell a make up test. . ."

"Fine. . ." He tilted for another chance of contact, but Wu Fei backed off.

"Make it half his grade."

"What?!"

"You've been cheating him all semester."

"All right. . .anything else?"

"I get to view the test before you give it to him."

"Are you sure you're not the one after him?"

"I just want to make sure it's fair."

"This is a lot of hassle for a slacker."

"Well, that slacker is capable of a lot more than you'd expect."
